Program Description
Upward Bound is a federally funded pre-college academic program, designed to motivate and prepare high school students for college and university work. It's an intensive college preparatory support project designed to provide low-income, first generation high school students with encouragement and the essential skills to complete high school and earn a post-secondary degree.
The goal of Upward Bound is to increase post-secondary enrollment and graduation rates of participants. Upward Bound provides instruction and enrichment activities throughout the calendar year. The program serves 75 students in grades 9 through 12 from the Battle Creek Public Schools.
